As you might have learned from some of my past posts, I am a dad that likes to clean. Staying true to my nickname “Danny Tanner,” I like to clean so much that my friends at Shark sent me one of their steam mops. At first, I felt like this addition to my cleaning arsenal was a bit unnecessary. Man, was I wrong! The new Shark Steam Mop has become a staple in my cleaning artillery and I can honestly say that I use it every single night to clean the floors in the kitchen and at least once a week in any other part of the house that has tile. This mop has successfully extended the dreaded “five-second rule” at our house!
The main thing that really sings to me is that I can finally clean my floors without using chemicals. I used to use another brand’s model that sprays the solution on the floor and then wipes it, but with the Steam Mop, I am able to simply fill the mop with filtered water from my fridge, plug it in, and within thirty seconds it is steaming hot and ready to go.
With a young child in the house that is crawling, running, and generally rolling all over the floors, it gives me great peace of mind to know that he isn’t playing in dried cleaning solution. (We all know those hands and feet go right in the mouth!) There was always something about cleaning the floor with a smelly spray that didn’t sit well with me, but I wanted my floors to be clean for my family. I have three kids, so how many times does a food item spill onto the floor? Lots! We use that five-second rule A LOT! Now when something like a chip, a piece of cereal, a grape, or an apple slice spills on the floor or is dropped from the kitchen table, I don’t worry about the item absorbing a chemical spray anymore…because there are no chemicals present!
*Shark has compensated Lean Green DAD to talk about their steam mops. For more details on what this means, please visit our disclosure page.
